COURSE CONTENT
A wide range of material and texts are studied such as the following: Reading and Writing
ASSESSMENT In special circumstances, students may be offered the option of being assessed against specific L2 standards, in order to meet UE literacy requirements. This is only with the agreement and supervision of the HoD.
UE LITERACY
10 credits (5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing) are required to meet the University Entrance literacy requirements. This course provides the following standards in UE Reading & Writing: READING: 91474 91479 WRITING: 91474 91476 FUTURE STUDIES / CAREER OPTIONS
The course is recommended for those intending university study, especially in the humanities and law, but increasingly several other courses such as health sciences are demanding a high level of English achievement as a prerequisite. The course is a specialised one and leads on to university courses in language, literature, film studies and journalism. It is a valuable stepping stone to any profession that requires sophisticated communication skills. |
