COURSE CONTENT
Students cover a range of theory and practicals. They learn how to prepare dishes ranging from cake baking to finger food. Work also covers the basics of knife skills and safety and career options in hospitality.

Each year level is charged $255/year, (Approx $70 for ITO standards and balance on ingredients)

ASSESSMENT
About 75% of the assessment is short answer written work with the balance practical cooking assessments.
This is a unit standards based course and therefore credits cannot be gained at Merit or Excellence level.

FUTURE STUDIES / CAREER OPTIONS
There are more career paths in cookery than students first assume. Graduates have gone on to: start their own food businesses, study culinary design, teacher training, and even to work for gaming companies providing hospitality and promotion. Then there are also the classic training pathways to cheffing.
