Students without the full prerequisites must negotiate as individuals with the HOD. Work in practice assessments may also count as prerequisites. COURSE CONTENT
A student completing this course should be able to:- ● Demonstrate mathematical skills, concepts and understandings in the Mathematical processes, Measurement, Algebra and Statistics curriculum strands. ● Apply these skills, concepts and understandings to familiar and sometimes unfamiliar problems arising in real and simulated situations. ● Demonstrate the ability to select and use appropriate mathematical techniques in problem solving. ● Demonstrate the ability to reason logically and systematically. ● Demonstrate the ability to communicate mathematical ideas. The course consists of five Achievement Standards which contribute 20 credits toward the Level 3 NCEA. Five of these Achievement Standards are internally assessed. ASSESSMENT
UE LITERACY

General Mathematics is a good general purpose mathematics course. It is intended for students interested in continuing studies in commerce and administration and in general any field where the collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative data is important. |
