The overarching aim at this level is to develop ‘historical consciousness:’ building on the skills you’ve developed in previous years (or start fresh if you are new to history this year). We want to get you thinking like an historian. What does historical consciousness involve?

ASSESSMENTInternal assessment will consist of three achievement standards: one research investigation, one written report, and a written analysis of different historian’s perspectives relating to a significant event.
External assessment consists of two achievement standards: written answers relating to source interpretation and one essay. UE LITERACY
10 credits (5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing) are required to meet the University Entrance literacy requirements. This course provides the following standards in UE Reading & Writing: READING: 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 3.5 WRITING: 3.3 3.5 FUTURE STUDIES / CAREER OPTIONS
