Year 13 Digital TechnologyPREREQUISITES:
Minimum 12 Credits at Level Two Digital Technology or by negotiation COURSE CONTENT
This course expands upon the concepts of digital information, digital media and computer science from Level 2. It is primarily project based, with students engaging in developing digital outcomes in a range of areas, expanding into database development and enhanced programming. ASSESSMENT
Standards will be selected from a mix of Digital Technology achievement standards and Generic Computing unit standards. Students are not necessarily expected to undertake ALL of the standards below. They can select those that best suit their needs. Expected credits gained will be in the range of 16 – 24 in total.
FUTURE STUDIES / CAREER OPTIONS
In this country right now, there are SHORTAGES of suitably qualified New Zealanders in many of the careers involving Digital Technologies. Therefore this serves as further development of skills and understanding towards higher level study in computer science, digital graphics, multimedia production and web design or similar. Successfully undertaking this course will fulfil pre-requisite entry conditions for 1 subject for entry to Tertiary Study. |
